Abstract:

This paper presents the overview of pilot protection. It explains the principle of operation and the pilot communication channels. It supplies the reason for chosen pilot protection technique and different zone of operation. Finally the paper deals with Permissive Overreaching Transfer Tripping (POTT) scheme. Model analysis has provided an important modern tool for predicting carrier performance and the best method of coupling and transmission. This is important and recommended, especially for long lines.
